Announcing our virtual
Play Along Series!
Emit is thrilled to announce the Play Along Series, designed for audience members to experience Emit's programming from the comfort of their own home, free of charge!
We fully acknowledge that as a company committed to inclusive practices for learners of all kinds, we should have been developing this type of programming from the beginning. We are strongly committed to continuing this program even after we are able to gather together in person again!
Our next performance, A Midsummer Night's Dream, premieres its first episode on December 3! Scroll down for details.
The Play Along Series is made possible with support from the Nancy Quinn Fund, a program of the Alliance of Resident Theatres/New York (A.R.T./New York).

Shakespeare is in quarantine just like you! That won't stop him and his actors from making some theatre magic with you from home!
Emit Theatre's digital retelling of Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream allows families to enjoy this classic story retold with a contemporary audience in mind right from the comfort of your own home. Kids will be able to play along and help characters throughout the course of three episodes, performed weekly. A pre-show activity will take place during the first ten minutes of each episode. Crafted for ages 5 to 10. Please RSVP; attendees will receive access details the day before the performance.
Like all of our performances, A Midsummer Night's Dream is highly interactive! We will spend some time at the beginning of the performance reviewing a few Zoom functions that will allow you to interact with the performance.
However, if you’d like to go over those functions ahead of time, we have prepared written and video tutorials below.
Zoom Settings (for maximum Shakespeare fun!)
1. When you register for the performance, you will receive a link the day before the performance. Click the link to open Zoom.

3. In the lower left hand corner, find the video icon. Select the ^ button and click "Video Settings." In the Settings box, select "Hide non-video participants."
4. Familiarize yourself with the "Chat" feature at the bottom of your screen. You will use it during the show!
